Testing Process

We are committed to delivering the benefits of CBD to our customers, and hope that our products will help to improve their health and quality of life. To guarantee the integrity and effectiveness of our products, we ensure that our CBD surpasses standards for both quality and safety in one of the world’s most strictly regulated markets.

Why do we test?

Our primary concern is the health and safety of our customers. All of our CBD products undergo a third-party testing process of at least 6 stages to ensure that they are safe to use and of the highest possible quality.

Naturecan's Testing Process

CBD harvest

First Step

An Inspector from the Agricultural Department in Oregon tests the Hemp plant for CBD content, low THC levels and pesticides.

cbd crude oil

Second Step

IAH Oregon tests the hemp biomass or crude oil intake before purchasing for potency and pesticides, using an independent third-party testing lab.

THC free

Third Step

IAH tests the chosen crude oil after removal of THC to confirm removal, again using an independent lab.

CBD purification

Fourth Step

IAH tests the finished distillate oil for THC levels, to reconfirm full removal of THC using the Rotachrom Purification technology, again using an independent lab.

Naturecan CBD

Fifth Step

Naturecan independently tests the distillate oil from IAH for contamination by pesticides, microbiologicals, and heavy metals, and for the potency of cannabinoids, including THC levels.

Types of Testing Required

Certified Quality

Labdoor Accredited

Naturecan’s CBD oil has been independently tested by Labdoor, a company that helps customers to make informed buying choices by verifying the accuracy of label claims and testing supplements for harmful ingredients.

Our oil received the highest possible rating (A+) from Labdoor, with non-detectable levels of THC (<0.01%) and zero heavy metal (lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury) and microbial (yeast, mold, coliforms and E. coli) contamination, providing further confirmation of the integrity and quality of our product.

TÜV SÜD Tested

Naturecan’s CBD oil has been certified by another independent testing partner called TÜV SÜD. With an expansive portfolio of testing and certification services, TÜV SÜD protects customers by providing safety and security solutions and inspiring trust in technological developments.

TÜV SÜD confirmed that our CBD products contain non-detectable levels of THC (MOQ: 0.01%). They also verified that each bottle contains the declared amount of CBD and that our oil contains additional cannabinoids, such as CBG, which increase the effectiveness of the oil through the entourage effect.

Eurofins Certified

Eurofins, a world-leading independent laboratory for food, environment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products testing, has also certified Naturecan’s CBD oil. Eurofins provides customers with accurate data and expert advice to enable them to make the right decisions when it comes to choosing safe and quality products.

Eurofins tested many of our products, including the 40% CBD oil, confirming that they contain non-detectable levels of THC (MOQ: 0.0025%). They also provided further confirmation that our oil contains other cannabinoids like CBG, and that each bottle contains the declared amount of CBD.

What is a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?

A Certificate of Analysis is a document which confirms that products have undergone specified testing to ensure they meet market standards. It is most commonly used for food, alcohol, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and can be issued either by a certification body, or by the exporter’s own laboratories where there is a relationship of mutual trust. The analysis is carried out at the exporter’s factory or warehouse, or at the place where the product is loaded for shipment.

How to read a Certificate of Analysis

A Certificate of Analysis can be divided into three main sections: the header, the results and the footer.

Choosing a CBD product

When you’re choosing a CBD product, it is a good idea to read the product’s CoA and check that it meets safety and quality standards. While reading a CoA, look out for the following red flags:

  • No lab certifications in the document
  • Tested in-house (rather than third-party testing)
  • Missing safety tests
  • Unsafe levels of THC (i.e. >0.3%)
  • Less CBD than claimed
  • Missing cannabinoids (such as CBG, CBC and CBN)
  • Compound quantities that do not match those on the product label
